      Synopsis

Berlin was at the centre of two world wars and was until 1989 the potential flashpoint for a third.

Throughout the city are reminders of it's violent and turbulent past. This large format photo book shows the key locations in its history, as well as some lesser known ones.

The book should be of interest to anyone interested in recent European history, as well as tourists to the city, who want to see how Berlin has changed over the years and find locations not in the usual guide books.

May 03, 2006: I bought this book after being intrigued by the cover photo and was not disappointed. I've always been fascinated by the history of Berlin particularly the Nazi Period and the Cold War. This photo book shows some remarkable images of some locations I'd never heard of and how the city changed so very quickly after 1989. Very Recommended!
