September 04, 2002: Jan put together a rainbow of experiences, all blending together to paint an emotional photograph of what Vietnam was like for those women who served there. It also adds another whole mix to the emotional and spiritual colors of this book, by giving a voice to those men who observed, or shared that time and place with so many "angels". It is a great read - because each story is so different as it records many unexplored views and experience of that war. I think it is one of those rare books that you would gain something from reading it two, or even three times, as you will keep discovering more "gold" with each reading. I highly recommend this book .

August 20, 2002: Anyone who has a mother, sister, wife, father, brother, husband, cousin, aunt, uncle, grandparent, friend or just someone you knew who served in Vietnam must read this book. I am the proud daughter of the 'Dogfaced Soldier' written about in this book and thank God daily for his willingness to serve. I still grieve for those who didn't return and say a big 'WELCOME HOME' to those who made it back! As a female veteran I am also proud to say a special thanks to my sisters who risked their lives to care for our wounded. This book is a long overdue tribute to them all! Thank you Jan for all the hard work and long hours you put in to gathering all the stories and making them available for all the world to enjoy!
