Writing the Christian Romance provides readers with detailed instruction for creating a storyline that is reflective of Christian values without being preachy, and developing virtuous and principled characters who don't seem laughably generic. In addition, the book will show writers how to develop an engaging, passionate, conflict-driven romantic storyline without the use profanity, gratuitous violence, or sexually explicit content. It will teach writers the three threads around which Christian romance is centered: the characters' personal growth, the growth of the romance, and the characters' spiritual growth, which is as irrevocably tied to the storyline as the first two threads.

February 07, 2008: Gail Gaymer Martin has done an excellent job in guiding novice writers through her book, 'Writing the Christian Romance'. She has taken some difficult concepts and made them much easier to understand, as any good teacher would. 'And since I've been a public school teacher for thirty five years, I know one when I see one!' Approaching the information through styles of learning, she explains 'verbal', shows clear examples 'visual', and offers hands-on exercises to clarify/experience what's been learned 'tactile'. Even if you don't intend to write a Christian/romance novel, this book is extremely helpful 'to hit the ground running' for budding authors of any genre.
