August 29, 2009: The book is quite technical - a bit too technical for me!
The display of an example on a desktop is out of focus. This is extremely distracting. Better no display than one that is out of focus.Reader Rating:

May 03, 2009: I perceive myself a computer novice and was looking for specifics to troubleshoot an issue I was having with Vista following upgrade from XP. I use so few of the features that much of the material was far too sophisticated and the concern I was having was not covered - no sound from speakers. No, not cable nor sound card nor speaker failure. My computer guru plugged speaker cable into alternate audio port (?) and voila! noise! (?) The DVD will probably be helpful eventually although he talks far too fast. I could profit from an intro classroom setting and I researched but none available locally. I'm an educated 74 years old and much impressed with this computer world but most materials I've found seem either too simple and superficial or infinitely more advanced and detailed. I could use a mid-range coverage of new software. Have kept the book handy, however, and have located some helpful tidbits.
