    Call New Delhi, Insteadby J1NY

March 30, 2009: A guide for "dummies" should be simple, clear, free of jargon and well-ganized. The author appears more interested in displays of questionable

wit, which include weak analogies and cutsie meanderings, than teaching. My tech support person in New Delhi was far more helpful and his efforts were covered by my DSL service. Let's hear it for outsourcing.

March 18, 2009: As the author says, not for reading cover to cover, but when you find your problem his expanations are clear and concise. However, one must apparently be smarter than this Dummy to think of the right word to find one's problem in the index. For example, there is no "uninstall" under U in the index even though it's an operation one performs infrequently enough that it must be looked up. Still, I know it's there somewhere and, when I find it, it'll be explained clearly and concisely.
