      Synopsis

Something evil has arrived in the sleepy little town of Foxfield, Massachusetts and it is searching for Gabriel Woods. Gabriel is a twelve-year-old boy who loves collecting comic books, and he is in possession of what just might be the most valuable comic on the face of the Earth. People from all over the globe have made him offers, however all have failed. Then one night, a freak storm blows through town, bringing with it something sinister: a mysterious figure who is on a mission to seize Gabriel's comic through any means necessary. Who is this strange man and what awesome powers does he possess? Why is there a sudden resurgence of foxes in Foxfield? And what strange secret rests in the wilds of the northern woods? Gabriel is about to find out the answers to all these questions the only way he can, the hard way.

July 11, 2008: I really loved this book. It made me think of Roald Dahl, Ray Bradbury and even Brad Bird. It's equal parts mystery, fantasy and adventure, and you don't have to be a big comic book fan - I'm not - to appreciate the fun references to superheros.
