    Synopsis

Citizens of Saddleboro are proud to say that theirs is the cleanest town around. So they can't ignore the mysterious death of their mascot, Cock Robin. Some people would like to blame the citizens themselves, but one boy-Tony Isidoro — suspects there's more to the story.

Tony threads his way through a maze of clues: Among other things, the town park is overrun with trillions of ants; nights are quiet because there are no frogs singing; the nearby river contains a dangerous amount of an unknown chemical; and the town dump is emitting strange fumes. What does it all add UP to? It's an eco mystery all right, and it's up to Tony to figure out who really killed Cock Robin.

    Annotation

Eighth-grader Tony Isidoro follows a trail of environmental clues to try and figure out what ecological imbalances might have caused the death of the town's best-known robin.

June 29, 2009: This book is a required summer reading for kids entering 5th grade for my girls school. My older daughter when she was entering 5th grade had an extremely hard time with this book and she enjoys reading. She HATED this book. My younger daughter is now tackling this book. She hates this book with a passion. I had not told her that her sister hated this book, so that she would not be influenced. We are reading it together to try and make sense of the confusing story. My younger daughter, even though she is entering 5th grade has an 8th grade reading level. I feel sorry for my daughters.

January 30, 2000: Who Really Killed Cock Robin was great. There was exciement on every page. The town of Saddleboro went copletely crazy when the heard Cock Robin was dead. Tony Isadoro tried to solve the mystery on who killed Cock Robin. I read it in my 7th grade Language Arts class. It helps you control pollution. It also tells you what pollution does for the earth. I reccomend it to all the boys and girls. Read and learn. Don't forget to RECYCLE. So that is why I give it a 5 star rating.
