This is a great book for anyone interested in the diversity in our schools and the vision of a great teacher. I recently re-read this book for a class on diversity and Paley's vision helped me look at the situation with new eyes. Thank goodness for my Nook. Biography

Vivian Gussin Paley, a former kindergarten teacher, is the winner of a MacArthur Award and of the 1998 American Book Award for Lifetime Achievement given by the Before Columbus Foundation.
