I used this to treat myself many times while living in West Africa. I would highly recommend this book to anybody who is going to travel. There is also a French version (I think it is Il n'y a pas docteur) - which you could give to a local medical provider to help you out.

This book was a tremendous guide on our trip through southern Mexico. Our group conducted medical clinics for the residents of three villages in Guerrero, Mexico and this book was invaluable. It was easy to follow, yet comprehensive. Anyone who is traveling off the beaten path should find room for this resource.

I have use this book extensively while traveling on medical missions trips to the Dominican Republic. There are several conditions that you see there that are not commonly seen in the United States. It has been a great tool to use while working out in the villages. It gives you clear explainations on many of the conditions that you see and need to treat. I have left my copy with the medical staff there...
