July 21, 2008: A librarian recommended this book to me when I was in 5th grade. Now, 35 years later, it is still one of my favorite children's books. I plan to use it with my class to introduce historical fiction.

October 31, 2007: This is the best books I have ever read. The story it tells enthralls the reader even though it is not action packed. It is very interesting to read the story of a Jewish German girl and her family having to move across Europe at the beginning of Hitler's reign.
