Lynda Madaras is the author of twelve books on health, child care, and parenting. For more than twenty-five years, she taught puberty and health education to young students in Pasadena and Santa Monica, CA. Her daughter, Area Madaras, was just eleven years old when she assisted her mother with the first "What's Happening to My Body?" book. Now a communications consultant and the mother of two young girls, she lives in California and continues to work with her mother on the series.

May 24, 2009: Good source of info with excellent illustrations. I did not share with my daughter page by page (TMI). However, it helped me through some technical aspects of what's happening to her body.

April 29, 2008: I am a 34 year old woman who got this book from her mother around 11-12 years old. The information in this book was and still is invaluable. It's a tricky subject for any parent to discuss with their child and this book provides a groundwork of good, clear, clinical information. I still reflect on it to this day. If all kids had such a clear understanding of their bodies and such a demystifying look at the opposite gender, it could help clear up many misconceptions. I know adults, both male and female, who still do not understand female reproduction, etc. There will always be things kids don't discuss with their parents. This book answers many of the questions I, as a pre-teen, was too shy to ask.
