Synopsis

The collapse of Enron caught almost everyone by surprise, from employees and investors to analysts and creditors. But how did the seventh largest company in the Fortune 500 plummet into bankruptcy and implode so quickly?

You’ve read the press accounts and watched Lay, Skilling, Fastow, and the Arthur Andersen accountants tell their conflicting stories to Congress or plead "the Fifth," but despite this information you’re probably still in search of answers as to what really went wrong at Enron.

What Went Wrong at Enron: Everyone’s Guide to the Largest Bankruptcy in U.S. History explains the critical steps, transactions, and events that led to the demise of a company that, until recently, was considered one of the most innovative and successful corporations in the United States.

In a straightforward, accessible manner expert Peter Fusaro and Ross M. Miller get inside Enron and provide a coherent account of the who, why, where, and when of this corporate debacle. Without sacrificing the complexity of what has happened, Fusaro and Miller tell you all you need to know about the errors that occurred at Enron-the facts and only the facts-that led to its fall from grace.

Enron has been front-page news for months, but confusion still remains as to what actually happened. Blow-by-blow, What Went Wrong at Enron will give you a greater understanding of the largest bankruptcy in U.S. history and provide you with a fascinating backdrop to all the backstabbing, silence, and grandstanding that have taken place.

September 01, 2002: A fascinating documentary about Enron, that begs the question: how many more Enrons are out there? I once thought I understood accounting...until Enron. Great reading.
