At the Dawn of the Age of the Katsinas...

A woman runs away in search of a Spirit Helper and never returns...

An ancient village is swept into a shattering crime beyond reason, beyond belief...

An old man must learn to walk the dark labyrinth of a murderer's mind to find him before he can strike again...

A young war chief must enter the mesmerizing word of the insane if he is to save everything and everyone he loves...

And, a scant moment ahead in geologic time, world-renowned Canadian physical anthropologist Dr. Maureen Cole finds herself excavating a mass grave in New Mexico filled with the brutalized bodies of women and children.

Could Not Put It Down!by Bookworm79

January 14, 2009: This wasn't a genre I would normally read, but I picked this book up because the first edition described it being about the Anasazi (Puebloan) peoples. This was the first book I ever read by these authors and it was amazing!

The characters are explicitly developed and the story line is both thrilling and entertaining. The story line is very plausible. If you live in the Southwest or have visited some of the archaeological sites they describe, it is easy to imagine yourself there, witnessing the events that unfold.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in a good murder mystery with twists and turns throughout the book. It keeps you on edge and guessing at the end of each chapter.

To get a better idea of where the story begins, start with "People of the River", then "People of the Moon", "People of the Silence", "The Visitant", "The Summoning God", and then "Bone Walker". All excellent and the story line runs from the beginning. Otherwise, to read this book first puts you in the middle of the action, but you don't have as much background or details to begin with.

April 15, 2008: Honestly, this series is fabulous. The plot lines are absolutely unique, and the characters in the modern time line are hilarious! Not only that the archaeological information is wonderfully presented.
