Synopsis

Behind Rosewood's grand façades, where the air smells like apples and Chanel No. 5 and infinity pools sparkle in landscaped backyards, nothing is as it seems. It was here, back in seventh grade, that five best friends shared everything—Seven jeans, MAC makeup, and their deepest, darkest secrets. For Aria, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily, it was a dream come true . . . until Alison, the most beautiful of them all, suddenly vanished.

Now someone named A has turned their charmed lives into a living nightmare. Emily has been shipped off to her hyper-conservative cousins in Iowa. Aria is stuck living with her dad and his home-wrecker girlfriend. And Spencer fears she had something to do with Alison's murder. But Hanna's fate is far worse than all of that—she's clinging to life in the hospital, because she knew too much.

With A's threats turning dangerous and Ali's killer still on the loose, the girls must uncover the truth—about A, about Ali, and about what happened to Hanna—before they become A's next victims. But as they unravel Rosewood's mysteries and secrets, will it bring an end to the horror . . . or is this just the beginning?

November 24, 2008: In the book Unbelievable, author Sara Shepard ties up some loose ends in the series Pretty Little Liars. We find out who hit Hanna, why they hit Hanna, and who the infamous 'A' is. The book follows characters Emily, Aria, Spencer, and Hannah, revealing new secrets and scandals about each of them.
When we last left Rosewood Hanna had a deadly encounter with `A? (Rosewood?s Stalker) that nearly cost her everything. Now she?s left hanging on for dear life, and isn?t able to remember anything from the night of the accident, including the identity of A. Spencer, on the other hand finally remembers what happened the night of Ali's death and fears she could have killed Ali. After A let it leak that Emily is homosexual, she is sent to live with her conservative relatives in Middle of Nowhere Iowa. Just when she thinks things can?t get any worse, she meets Trista. Aria has been kicked out of her mother's house after keeping the secret of her father's affair, and now with nowhere else to go Aria moves in with her father and his peppy girlfriend Meredith. In the end, the Rosewood Stalker and Allison?s murderer are revealed, but just when you think it?s the end, there will be more.
I started reading the Pretty Little Liars series last year in my free time and it quickly became a favorite of mine! Then when I had a class assignment to read a book of my choice, I knew just the one to pick. After reading the first book, I was hooked; I just couldn?t put it down. Who can resist scandalous secrets and crazy drama? Unbelievable was by far the best of the three books.
There are several things about this book that I loved, including the characters and their conflict both with each other and themselves. Each girl had her own secrets and drama. They felt like real people with real issues, and that made them easier to relate to. The plot was also great. It was full of suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat and wanting more. I kept turning the pages trying to find more secrets and uncover more answers. Shepard did a great job of hiding the identity of `A? through the final chapters. As many questions were answered, more would come up, leaving the book to end open-ended.
In conclusion, I loved this book and was super excited to hear that the Pretty Little Liars drama isn?t over yet! The next book, Wicked, will come tomorrow! So in the meantime; I would definitely suggest beginning the series, while we wait on the arrival of the next book.
