Synopsis

In Tripwire, Reacher is settling into lazy Key West when his life is interrupted by a stranger who comes looking for him. When the stranger turns up beaten to death in the Old Town cemetery - fingertips removed - Reacher knows whomever the man was working for is not a friend. Reacher follows the trail to New York, where he confronts the people who dispatched the dead man: an elderly couple still mourning an all-American son lost in Vietnam; an alluring and intelligent woman from Reacher's own haunted past; and at the center of the web, an opponent more vicious than any he's ever faced.

The guy must be channeling Dashiell Hammett.

In Jack Reacher, Lee Child, has created the kind of anti hero a Thirty something like myself can sink his teeth into. Complex, Intelligent, and flawed. In Tripwire the third of 11 books 'so far' the action takes a back seat to character developement, while this is not a bad thing, it did kind of drag the book down a bit in its middle. Really I do recommend this book, the ending is great, This novel just pales in comparison to the first two.

The author spends too much time on trivia that you are not interested in. I labored through 3/4 of the book and threw it away. Not enough action and too much junk.
