December 26, 2008:
This book is great for getting started with solids. The information is thorough but succinct. There is no fluff, which I liked as I don't have time to read endless unnecessary tips (who does?). The author also gives instructions on what goes with what so you can experiment once you get the basic idea. The recipes are absolutely delicious and easy to make. There are herbs, onion, even garlic, which I didn't know I could give my baby, but yes, I could and they make the food so tasty and flavorful. My daughter has loved everything I have cooked, she even likes her spinach.
Yes, there are some foods considered inappropriate for the given age here in US, so keep in mind that the author is British. So as with any cook book use your best judgment - you can easily modify recipes to your liking. My mom lives is in Europe so she assured me some of the foods I was afraid to cook(tomatoes for example) are considered safe there.
I would highly recommend the book to anyone looking for diverse, easy and delicious recipes for baby food.
