Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker–his classmate and crush–who committed suicide two weeks earlier.
On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out how he made the list.
Through Hannah and Clay's dual narratives, debut author Jay Asher weaves an intricate and heartrending story of confusion and desperation that will deeply affect teen readers.

After I read the first page of this exquisite book I was completely hooked. It was so fascinating. The story is about Clay, a boy who received 7 tapes in the mail from someone.? On the tapes Hannah recorded her last words(They are in high school). Hannah was Clay's first love, who committed suicide 2 weeks before. I went on a journey with Clay AND Hannah at the same time. While roaming the town with Clay and visiting Hannah's hot spots on her map, I was listening to the stories that caused Hannah so much pain. I felt like I knew Hannah. This is such an awesome book it makes me think about how I could affect anyone I could come in contact with. It is an amazing story that everyone should read.
