NARRATED by Skip Hinnant
This is a funny holiday story children are sure to love! The old lady is back in another cute holiday book. This whimsical version of the classic song will have children laughing with each turn of the page. With rhyming verse and humorous pictures, the story of the familiar old lady begins. The silly old lady swallows a bell, some bows, a sleigh, and various other holiday items throughout the story. Just as the old lady is ready to swallow a candy cane, she hears the sound of a special visitor. Santa Claus is waiting for a ride, and the old lady has all of the ingredients for a successful trip. She whistles loudly, and the sleigh, reindeer, and all of the other holiday items appear. She and Santa are off to bring holiday cheer to all. Children will enjoy the funny pictures and repetition of the text. This is a great book to share with children around the Christmas holiday. Reviewer: Melissa Hower

March 02, 2009: Even though lack of originality (with similar layout as the caldecott book "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly" by Simms Taback), it seems that doesn't matter much to my daughter. She just loves it, with the CD playing all the time.

February 24, 2009: This story is a take off of the familar tale of "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly." It is suitable for the Christmas season, especially for reading to small children who are familar with the 'Fly' version. Cute! Great for circle reading or group reading where children can be a part of telling the story.
