June 24, 2006: This deck is a wonderful resource for those just starting out in yoga. The cards allow you to customize and then refer to them during your session which is great and the meditation and breath cards are quite helpful. Each card tells you how to do the pose, its benefits and a picture. My only qualm is that it simply is what it is: cards with poses. My previous experience as a yogi was definitely helpful because I knew how to go in and out of poses and which consecutive poses would compliment each other to be the most beneficial. In short, it is great as a reference tool for beginners, but I would definitely recommend being somewhat familiar with yoga before picking the deck up. Also, if you're rather advanced or have been practicing for quite awhile, I would definitely recommend picking up the second Yoga Deck as well, since the poses featured in this one would not provide as much of a challenge to you. Some of the poses featured are: Mountain, proud warrior, downward dog, cobra, child's pose, hare, bow, and two inversions: shoulderstand and half shoulderstand.
