      Annotation

Verbal abuse doesn't leave the same physical evidence as battery, but it can be just as painful, and can actually take longer to recover from. The new edition of this important reference covers the most recent developments in dealing with verbal abuse and answers the questions readers ask most on the subject.

      Library Journal

This unique self-help book for women provides insight into "psychological repression," the demeaning put-downs and threats that may accompany or precede physical battering.

November 06, 2008: I read an older version of this book years ago, but today, my family is thriving and my husband is my hero. Though keeping the marriage in tact is not always the best option, for us, it ended up working to the huge benifit of my children. But I want to give a warning to the readers who have experienced the receiving end of abuse, this book is not a quick solution and it could get far worse in many ways before it gets better. But it is a journey worth taking!
