Margery Williams was born in London in 1881. She first came to the United States when she was nine years old, and lived in the United States and England alternately for the rest of her life. She died in 1944. The Velveteen Rabbit was the first and best known of all her children's books.
Robyn Officer is also known for her illustrations in a number of other children's classics, including The Little Mermaid, Mother Goose's Nursery Rhymes, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, and Thumbelina.

May 04, 2007: Until this book was given to my son I'd never heard of it. After reading it to him I now like it as much as he does and we read it often.

March 12, 2007: I always cried when the bunny got thrown away and the little boy couldn't play with him anymore. A classic if there was ever one! I LOVE THIS BOOK!
