"Wow! A great alternative to the Internet! A very easy-to-read book that lists more ideas than a bride could ever use!"
Beverly Clark, author, Planning a Wedding to Remember
A wedding consultant gives tips on everything from the proposal and prenuptial parties to the post-wedding period when couples struggle to write thank you notes, exchange duplicate gifts, and begin financial planning. Many brides will find her emphasis on handling stress and strategies for taking care of yourself beneficial. Muchnick even includes some comments on renewing vows, a topic ignored by many books. Though the ideas presented here are found in other guides (such as Robbi G.W. Earnst's more detailed Great Wedding Tips from the Experts, Lowell, 2000), this is fun to browse through, and readers will appreciate the straightforward, friendly tone. July 28, 2008: I loved the book for the down-to-earth advice. I have never read anything on weddings that spoke to the pregnant bride-to-be. This book tactfully lets that reader know it is OK and it happens all the time. The advice to the bride to clue-in the person altering her dress was the best. Nobody will tell a pregnant bride those things. The advice to the men in the wedding was dead-on. The 'stickier issues' of a wedding were covered with kindness and in a realistic way. The author has tact and insight. And this book was a fun read!

September 21, 2006: I was excited to order this book, especially after reading the rave, 5-star reviews. But after reading it, I must say, I'm disappointed. Being I'm engaged and the this is the first book I've read from the Wedding section, I'm eager for some awesome wedding ideas. The book is a bulleted list of helpful gems and pointers listed topically. Things like 'Have the groom shine his shoes' and 'Ask yours vendors a lot of questions' are listed as some of the fabulous ideas given. I felt most of the book was common knowledge penned as good advice and very little was actually Creative Ideas To Make Your Wedding Fun, Romantic & Memorable. The title and description are misleading. Is this book worth the $13.45 price tag? Yes, and I agree, a recommended read for all getting married. It's a great compilation of useful, albeit, extremely obvious information. Just change the title to The Ultimate Wedding Common Knowledge Advice Book, because this read is very lean on ideas.
