October 05, 2001: Okay, the wonderful illustrations tell a story that kids will certainly enjoy, but as an adult, you might find yourself, as I did, feeling deeply about the story itself. Presented in a 'House that Jack Built' format with each page building upon the last, the story starts and ends with a giant Douglas Fir tree in a Pacific Northwest Rain Forest. The story builds, showing the interdependance of the entire eco-system. Look a little deeper and you see that we all are dependant on eachother for our day-to-day survival. World-Wide, we are all part of the same 'eco-system'. So, grow where you're planted. Others are depending on you. You are an integral part of the Great Circle.
