Andrew's guardian angel Sam does not have an easy job. He has to keep up with Andrew, protecting him from harm and cleaning up after the youngster. Andrew is a bit mischievous, as kids his age tend to be, and he often leaves messes behind him as he goes through the day. When it is time for bed Andrew begs to stay up later while his guardian angel is busy putting away toys. Andrew manages to make quite a mess while brushing his teeth, so Sam must clean up the toothpaste left in the sink and the water splashed on the floor. The angel breathes a sigh of relief when his little charge finally gets in bed, but his relief is premature. Andrew jumps up to find his bedtime socks, and Sam catches sight of another mess underneath the bed. Andrew also searches for his favorite stuffed animal and creates chaos around the toy chest. Finally, Sam is rewarded by the soothing sound of Andrew snoring. This is a sweet story with appealing pictures. Reviewer: Carolyn Mott Ford
