Jessie's helped the magical people of the Realm to escape danger twice now she's a real hero to her friends there.
But now her own world is in danger. Forest fires threaten her beloved home, Blue Moon. And only the magic of the realm can help her.
When her home is threatened by fire, Jessie returns to the magical world of the Realm and visits the mermaids of Under-Sea to search for a wish-stone.
AGERANGE: Ages 8 to 12.
When raging wildfires threaten Jessie's Blue Moon home, a wish-stone becomes the only hope for rain. Fortunately, her granny is the deposed fairy queen and sends Jessie back to the homeland in search of the mythic rock. Plot twists keep the action moving forward and add mystery to this over the top girlhood fantasy. The characters include a miniature pony, an elf (who is the only "boy" in sight), and several mer-people. Imagination supplies a shell necklace that allows Jessie to breathe underwater and communicate telepathically with Ripple, her mermaid guide. In the end, success requires common sense and Jessie's quick thinking to save the day. She gains a renewed appreciation for her humanity, which allows free travel on both land and sea. This third tale in the "Fairy Realm" series reopens the secret garden door to insight and adventure, so younger readers may benefit from reading "The Charm Bracelet" first. Reviewer: Tina Dybvik
