July 03, 2004: This book is one of those treats that will please a mystery or western fan. A fun read that offers something different in setting and plotting. Ira Carter is an English teacher who overhears a murder by telephone. The victim is a long-time friend and former rodeo rider. Ira rushes to help the victim who tells him to 'find him'. Him-who? That is the riddle Ira sets out to solve and, at the same time, catch a killer. Set against clown work at rodeos with plenty of background excitement and action, The Texas Rodeo Murder will keep you reading to see what happens next. Happenings and new characters met along the way make this a pleasant way to spend reading time. Talented author George Wilhite opens a door to the mysteries of rodeoing and the dangers that make it an exciting life for both the participants and those in the stands. Then he adds a danger not usually found there which adds to the flavor and tension of the story. I enjoyed the reading of it and think you will too. ?Anne K. Edwards
