    Synopsis

A cold and malevolent universe is all the humanity can ever know. In the near future, Vonnegut's scientific researchers learn that the substance of which that galaxy is made, IceT, assures that human life will ever be Emily Dickinson's "zero at the bone." Any belief in manifest human destiny or compassion is doomed. Reissued in hardcover after SLAUGTHERHOUSEFIVE as part of a reevaluation of the importance of Vonnegut's work.

    Biography

Kurt Vonnegut was forever established in the literary pantheon and on the school syllabus with the publication of his brilliant antiwar novel Slaughterhouse-Five, but he endured as a purveyor of mind-warping, surreal fiction that just so happened to be funny.

October 18, 2009: The Sirens of Titan is the best Vonnegut book I've read by far. It tells of Malachai Constant, the richest man on Earth, and his adventure through space. This science fiction story is just great in every way imaginable. The characters are deep, the plot is meaningful, and the theme will blow your mind away. Vonnegut's 'The Sirens of Titan' questions the whole reason of mankind's existence on earth, and adds a completely unique theory to how and why we came to arrive on our planet. It will definitely get you thinking.
