Here is an explanation of how the position of Earth in relation to the sun causes seasons, and the wonders that come with each one of them.
Once again, Gibbons undertakes to simplify a complex subject without rendering it meaningless and uninteresting. And once again, she succeeds. With simple (and simply absorbing) graphics and well-researched, but brief sentences; she describes the astronomical phenomena that create night, day, and the seasons of the year on our planet.

November 10, 2000: This is a great book to use when talking about the weather and the seasons. It works great with all ages. Younger kids love the pictures and the descriptions of the seasons and older kids like the explanation of why the seasons occur.
