January 15, 2009: I read this book when it was a manuscript and I found it quite amusing. The characters in this tale came alive for me, and I found myself identifying with Terry, who seemed to find his soulmate in Kia. This book was a combination of different things, an adventure, a comedy, and an escape from the humdrum. I don't know where the author got the name 'Pyewiz' from, but it seemed to suit the pirate-wizard character well. When I saw the word wizard, I thought, oh no, I've seen this one before, but it's nothing like what I thought it would be. It doesn't involve magic as such at all! I particularly liked the straight forward writing style which was very easy to absorb. I hate long winded writers, and this author practically made himself invisible behind the story. In this sense, the author was the magician! Overall, I liked it and was glad I read it.
