      My name is Ree.

      Some folks know me as The Pioneer Woman.

      November 30, 2009: I have been a loyal reader of Ree's blog, so my review may be a tad biased - but only a tad.

      What you will find in this cookbook are really great, tried and true recipes, wonderful step by step pictures (why aren't all cookbooks this way???), lovely stories about where these recipes originated or just lovely stories and friendly commentary in general, and a whole lot of southern hospitality. You will feel like you're in the kitchen with a good friend - and that is truly something special!

      What you will not find are recipes which call for very fancy, unattainable, expensive ingredients, nor will you find recipes that are very helpful if you're dieting. HOWEVER, Ree's approach to a cookbook is utterly refreshing and you will be wanting to try each and every recipe ASAP!

      All cookbooks should be as detailed and beautiful as this one!!!

      November 30, 2009: Meh.

      There is nothing new, interesting, or spectacular about this book. Pot roast? Done. Red velvet cake? Done. Potato Skins? Breakfast burritos? Guacamole? Done. I wish these bloggers who are looking to be published would come up with something to pique our interest besides their versions of the tried and true. The photos are lovely though.

      This is a book that might please the beginner home cook.
