      Synopsis

A fascinating way to read through the Bible! Now you can gain a better understanding of the order of biblical events and the historical context in which they unfolded. The One Year Chronological Bible arranges the entire Bible text--books, chapters, and even verses--in the order the events actually happened.

In The One Year Chronological Bible, prophetic books are interwoven with the historical accounts they accompanied. Psalms follow the events they were written about. Proverbs are placed in the time frame in which they were compiled. The life of Christ is woven into one moving story. And Paul's letters to the young churches in the first century are integrated into the book of Acts.

The One Year Chronological Bible features

      • 365 daily readings that help you read the entire Bible chronologically in one year
      • Transition statements that help you understand why some Scripture portions appear where they do
      • A general timeline of major events to give you a clear overview of Israel's history
      • A "Divided Kingdom Timeline" that illustrates when kings of Israel and Judah reigned as well as which prophets ministered during their reign
      • A "When the Books Were Written" chart to give you an overview of when each book of the Bible was written
      • A Scripture index in canonical order to help you find your favorite passages quickly and easily
      • Maps of Paul's missionary journeys help you visualize the apostle's route for each of his missionary trips

You do not have to be a Bible historian to appreciate the fascinating new perspective waiting for you in The One Year Chronological Bible. It's like readingsome of your favorite passages for the very first time.

Great for those who are familiar with the Bible, but probably not best for new Bible readers.by Anonymous

February 14, 2009: As someone who has studied and read the Bible since childhood, the Chronological Bible is a refreshing and interesting way to read it through! If someone would like to start a Bible reading regimen, I'd recommend the standard One Year Bible because it separates into Old & New Testament segments, Psalms, and Proverbs while the chronological may be a little heavy in some of the Old Testament books.
I enjoy the new perspective it gives and that it allows one to align the prophets with the kings, and the times in which they prophecied. Also in the New Testament, I enjoy how the activities and letters of Paul are matched.

I appreciate the notes and footnotes, also.

A fresh new way to read the Bibleby Anonymous

October 25, 2004: I have used this Bible for a couple of years, perhaps not hitting every day each year, but getting nearly all of it in the course of a couple of years. It helps one to see more of the 'dynamics' of how the Bible was written because of the chronological sequencing. It is also helpful to have the explanatory notes in gaining a better understanding of who was doing the writing/speaking, and how the message fits in with the historical context.
