November 23, 2009: I purchased this book before I had my second child as my first child was a poor sleeper and I wanted to get it right with the second one from the beginning. I remember looking at children who could be put down to fall asleep on their own and thought to myself, that is impossible, why doesn't my child do this? Well now they do.
I began the simple and gentle techniques when my daughter was 6 weeks old and by 10 she was self settling with no crying, sucking her thumb to sleep. 2 weeks later she was sleeping through the night wihtout a murmer, 10-12 hours each night. It is bliss to know I can have a nights sleep without her waking up, especially considering her brother still wakes up in the night and comes into our bed. He is nearly 3 and his little sister could teach him a thing or 2 about how to sleep well! I have the second sleep book of Elizabeths that deals with toddlers and when I have the energy I will begin her techniques for him also. I know it will work, it is like a miracle and so simple and gentle to do!One other thing to note she advocates breastfeeding throughout the book which I found excellent as I breastfeed and I think it will encourage others to do the same too. Brilliant book, recommend it to anyoneI Also Recommend: The No-Cry Sleep Solution for Toddlers and Preschoolers, Attachment Parenting Book.

November 02, 2009: This book has the tips and instruction to get your child to sleep and stay asleep while be loving and nurturing. This is a very loving wonderful approach like Attachment Parenting but more convenient for nowaday living. I started seriously following this program and saw amazing results within a week. This book will help your child get out of certain sleep associations (rocking to sleep, feeding to sleep) so they can fall asleep and stay asleep on their own. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone that has or ever will have children. This book will show you how to get your children on schedules so they are happier, healthier and have good sleep habits that will last their lifetime. I would never let my child (or any child or adult for that matter) cry themselves to sleep so I thank Elizabeth Pantley for writing this book.
