      Synopsis

"At long last, I've found a book that I can hand to weary parents with the confidence that they can learn to help their baby sleep through the night—without the baby crying it out."
—William Sears, M.D., Author of The Baby Book

"When I followed the steps in this book, it only took a few nights to see a HUGE improvement. Now every night I'm getting more sleep than I've gotten in years! The best part is, there has been NO crying!"
      —Becky, mother of 13-month-old Melissa

A breakthrough approach that offers hope to exhausted parents looking for gentle ways to help their baby sleep without the heart-wrenching tears

Are you suffering through sleepless nights and having to fend off a barrage of heartless advice about letting your baby "cry it out"? The No-Cry Sleep Solution will show you how it is entirely possible and within your grasp to help your baby fall asleep peacefully—and stay asleep all night long.

Until now the only two ways to deal with sleepless nights were to let your baby cry herself to sleep or to become a sleep-deprived martyr and tough it out from dusk until dawn. At last, there is a practical and effective third way, thanks to Elizabeth Pantley, a parent educator and mother of four. Pantley is like a best friend who's been there and is full of caring advice to help you and your baby get a good night's sleep. Her ten-step will lead you through the process one day at a time by:

      • Shedding new light on your baby's sleep patterns and helping you set realistic goals
      • Showing you how to analyze, assess, and improve your baby's sleep patterns using sleep logs
      • Offering a variety ofsleep solutions that fit every parenting style, whether you cosleep with your baby or she sleeps in a crib or whether you breastfeed or bottlefeed
      • Creating a tear-free customized sleep plan that works for both you and your baby

Don't let sleep deprivation keep you from enjoying your baby. The No-Cry Sleep Solution is full of reassuring advice and words of wisdom from other parents who have had success with the program. It will give you the tools you need to effectively and gently reach your goal—a good night's sleep for everyone.

November 23, 2009: I purchased this book before I had my second child as my first child was a poor sleeper and I wanted to get it right with the second one from the beginning. I remember looking at children who could be put down to fall asleep on their own and thought to myself, that is impossible, why doesn't my child do this? Well now they do.

I began the simple and gentle techniques when my daughter was 6 weeks old and by 10 she was self settling with no crying, sucking her thumb to sleep. 2 weeks later she was sleeping through the night wihtout a murmer, 10-12 hours each night. It is bliss to know I can have a nights sleep without her waking up, especially considering her brother still wakes up in the night and comes into our bed. He is nearly 3 and his little sister could teach him a thing or 2 about how to sleep well! I have the second sleep book of Elizabeths that deals with toddlers and when I have the energy I will begin her techniques for him also. I know it will work, it is like a miracle and so simple and gentle to do!

One other thing to note she advocates breastfeeding throughout the book which I found excellent as I breastfeed and I think it will encourage others to do the same too. Brilliant book, recommend it to anyone

November 02, 2009: This book has the tips and instruction to get your child to sleep and stay asleep while be loving and nurturing. This is a very loving wonderful approach like Attachment Parenting but more convenient for nowaday living. I started seriously following this program and saw amazing results within a week. This book will help your child get out of certain sleep associations (rocking to sleep, feeding to sleep) so they can fall asleep and stay asleep on their own. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone that has or ever will have children. This book will show you how to get your children on schedules so they are happier, healthier and have good sleep habits that will last their lifetime. I would never let my child (or any child or adult for that matter) cry themselves to sleep so I thank Elizabeth Pantley for writing this book.
