Dust off your dancing shoes. Babymouse and the gang are taking center stage in the feel-good book of the season! Will Babymouse get the lead in the school musical or will Felicia Furrypaws steal the show? Find out in Babymouse: The Musical ! Filled with highsteps and high jinks and starring the critically acclaimed, award-winning Babymouse as herself, this showstopper will have you tapping your toes and singing along!
From the Trade Paperback edition.
Even though she is quite a klutz, Babymouse fantasizes about being the star of a Broadway musical. When auditions are announced for the school musical, she auditions and is devastated when she is chosen as the understudy for the lead role. Henry Higgins, the new boy in school, is cast in the male lead, and they become friends. Through a series of mishaps, Babymouse must step in as the star at the last minute and literally "brings down the house." Budding performers will be thrilled by the references to musicals, which abound in her fantasies. Babymouse imagines herself in Phantom of the Opera, Grease, and My Fair Lady, just to name a few. Each musical receives Babymouse's own interpretation, which can cause the reader to either wince or laugh out loud. Most pages are black and white, but the fantasies appear in bright pink, making it easy for young readers to follow the story. The hilarious adventures of Babymouse will entice many young readers to read more of the series. Reviewer: Shirley Nelson

March 12, 2009: I bought this book for my daughter. She is a reluctant reader but she enjoys the Babymouse books (she has all of the books). I like Babymouse series because she is not the most popular or athletic character but what an imagination! My daughter and I have a great time reading together and that is important! I recommend ALL of the books in this series!
I Also Recommend: Queen of the World! (Babymouse Series #1), Our Hero (Babymouse Series #2), Rock Star (Babymouse Series #4), Puppy Love (Babymouse Series #8), Monster Mash (Babymouse Series #9).
