March 21, 2009: Once again Geralyn Dawson has given us a heartwarming tale related to her Bad Luck Bride series. I've been a long time fan of this series and The Loner is definitely going on my keeper shelf!

Lucky Logan Grey is definitely a loner and his version of lucky and what other people believe are often very different. Having been raised in an orphanage after his entire family was killed in a flash flood, Logan is more than wary of the thought of having a family of his own. Even though his good friends from the orphanage have gotten married and are enjoying their lives, Logan intends to live his own life and has no interest in settling down.

As a Range Detective Logan has tracked and caught and sometime killed, some the baddest of the bad. Sometimes called a killer with a badge, he was used to being on the move and leading life the way he wanted.

Caroline Kilpatrick and Logan are caught in a bank robbery together and as she helps him spoil the robber's plans, an instant attraction grows between them. But is it instant or have they known each other before? It seems that they were married 15 years ago and Logan doesn't even remember her!

Caroline needs help and she knows that Logan is the only one that can help her but will he do it? The father of her heart is missing and she needs help finding him but she doesn't think this will be motivation for Logan to help her so she tells him that his son is missing instead. Little did she know that her son Will had really been kidnapped.

Shocked by the news that they are indeed truly married and that he has a son that he knew nothing about. Logan agrees to help Caroline rescue their son from Black Shadow Canyon, a den of thieves and murders. But would they find the treasure allegedly hidden in the Canyon?

With a journey fraught with peril, can Logan and Caroline overcome the lies and the time apart? Can Logan overcome his life long fears and let himself love another? Their journey together is a definitely must read.

June 03, 2008: This was a great book. The characters were well developed and the plot kept you interested until the end. My only problem with the book is the renaming of some of the characters. In the author's previous series 'Bad Luck Brides', Maribeth McBride married Luke Garrett. In this book, they are Luke & Maribeth Prescott. I can't believe the author or editor let that slip.
