    Biography

Stacey Kayne grew up at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California. She spent her summers camping in the high country and adventure seeking with her brothers. Though her passion for writing came as a shock after buying her first computer in the summer of 2001, it's not a wonder her first novels were borne from daydreams about fictional characters and their wild escapades through those rugged mountains.

An American history college course was a major catalyst in her writing aspirations. Steeped in facts and images of the American West, her mind began its usual wandering. With a computer at her disposal, she decided to type out her daydreams—halfway through her history course, Bride of Shadow Canyon was created.

While writing her first western, Stacey discovered that an adventurous setting with ever-changing untamed scenery is a driving force of her imagination. Rugged, dusty, wild, resilient—there's such an elemental connection between the setting and the characters. Her mind is constantly searching for ways to submerge new characters in the beauty and grandeur of the American West.
