    Synopsis

From the author of the phenomenal #1 New York Times bestseller Tuesdays with Morrie, a novel that explores the unexpected connections of our lives, and the idea that heaven is more than a place; it's an answer.

Eddie is a wounded war veteran, an old man who has lived, in his mind, an uninspired life. His job is fixing rides at a seaside amusement park. On his 83rd birthday, a tragic accident kills him as he tries to save a little girl from a falling cart. He awakes in the afterlife, where he learns that heaven is not a destination. It's a place where your life is explained to you by five people, some of whom you knew, others who may have been strangers. One by one, from childhood to soldier to old age, Eddie's five people revisit their connections to him on earth, illuminating the mysteries of his "meaningless" life, and revealing the haunting secret behind the eternal question: "Why was I here?"

February 01, 2010: The 5 people You Meet In Heaven is a great, touching novel about an old man who risks his life to save a child, but unfortunately is killed. Eddie, the old man, wakes up in heaven, and sees himself from a toddler, to a teenager, to an adult. Over those stages Eddie meets people that have also passed, who had significance in his life at one point or another.

The 5 People You Meet In Heaven, portrays that everything happens for a reason, and you may not realize the importance of something at the time. I would strongly recommend this book to anybody who would like to have a different perspective on life and it's value, and beauty.

January 13, 2010: The Book the Five People you meet in heaven is a book with excitement and suspense. The Book is about how an old, lonely guy named Eddie, lives his life with no purpose. He's been through copious events in his life that he lives by, but can't seem to see the real truth behind those events. He then dies a tragedian death that involves a young girl...Once he realizes that he is dead he meets five different people that dies before him and played a big role in his life. They explain to him why the things that happened happened. He then learns all the truths behind the events that at that time to him weren't important, turns out those events affected the steps of his life. I recommend this book to any book clubs,English classes, or even just a book to pick up and read on your own. The plots, characters', and setting are all capturing. The beginning is a little confusing at first but then after you get into it a little more you won't even want to put the book down. I can honestly say that I finished that book in about 3 days, I could have finished it in 1 or 2 but I had Homework to do. All in all this book is a very interesting book that I recommend you to read.
