The story of Danica Kade, a two year old who gets taken from her less than attentive parents by Child Protective Services and placed in her aunt Brooke's care. Brooke tries hard to keep the peace by doing things the way that Danica's mother wants them done, until she uncovers a dark secret that changes Brooke's outlook on everything. Danica's father, who will stop at nothing to get her back, has violent and all around strange behavior that puts Brooke's own family in danger. February 05, 2009: The fight for Golden Dawn is an intense read. You can not help but falling for "Dani". Brook is a "strong" character who is thrown into a no-win situation, untilmatly making the right decisions.

It was an emotional read, bringing feelings of empathy, sympathy and intense anger. This book is embedded in my mind and will not be forgotten.

Five stars for Jessie Terwilliger, she has talent and brings out her characters by taking you into their minds and souls!
