August 01, 2009: the american girl machine is very large and ever growing.dolls,books,logs(diarys)etc...most of the products were created for one thing,to get our hard earned money.some though really serve an greater purpose, the purpose for which they were created is to help young girls understand what it is to be a girl.this book deals with the complex emotions that take place as a young girl grows up.the book also deals with the feelings that occure when girls interact with other girls and with everybody else on the planit.this is a great educational tool but i find that my girls(both nine) find this book short on fun and long on education.they do learn quite a bit that they did not know and this book does let them know that what they are feeling is normal and that other girls are going through the same things.because the book is not as "fun"as it could be a lot of good stuff in this book was missed by my girls.i had to have my girls keep this book at bedside with hopes that they will read it over and over like an reference book.this is a great tool for a mother and even more-so a father.
