    Synopsis

The next installment of the #1 Bestselling Digital Photography Book

The Digital Photography Book, Volume 3 follows in the footsteps of the wildly successful first and second volumes of this series, giving photographers nearly two hundred more closely guarded photographic tricks of the trade to get them shooting dramatically better-looking, sharper, more colorful, more professional-looking photos with their digital camera every time they press the shutter button.

Here's another thing that makes this book different: like the original, each page covers just one trick, just one single concept. With every page, photographers will learn another pro setting, another pro tool, another pro trick to transform their work from snapshots into gallery prints.

    GREAT BOOK!by DOUGWALLER-Orlando

November 05, 2009: I have both of the Volumes of 1 and 2, and this one is just as good as them if not better.

If you are a beginner, intermediate, or even somewhat advanced-you'll appreciate this book as Scott Kelby demystifies certain techniques that pros often use but often will disclose to no one. Being a ten year pro, and working my way up by assisting pro and master photographers, I'm all too aware of the secrecy these artists keep to themselves. Scott Kelby tells you how they do it with no fluff, just exactly what light and filter to use, the settings on the equipment, and always a wonderful photograph of the technique. He holds nothing back. He even tells you what equipment he uses and where he bought it. There isn't one example that I have tried from his books that didn't work. No matter what level in photography your on, after reading all three books you'll be able to produce professional work.

Great reference book for novice DSLR usersby Anonymous

October 12, 2009: This book is the third in a series by this author. All three books have the same format and all are very useful for a "still learning" photographer like me.

The book is structured so that hints, tips, and lessons are covered on each page. The goal is to tell you "how" to do things with your camera without a long, technical dissertation on the "what" and "wherefores" of the topic.

I like this approach because it allows me to first learn how to take good pictures with my camera using the advice of an expert. This information comes in handy - for example - when I am traveling and need quick tips related to taking pictures of landscapes. I can then later refer to other photography books I have to better understand the underlying principles.

The book is not designed to make you a professional photographer. Rather, it's a great tool to help you easily maximize the investment you've made in your camera equipment and have fun while doing it. That's exactly what I wanted in this book and that's what I got.

As a suggestion to those who are thinking about buying (or have just bought) their first DSLR or are thinking about buying this book, I would recommend the first two books in this series as well.
