    Synopsis

Reyes is a man possessed. Bound by the demon of pain, he is forbidden to know pleasure. Yet he craves a mortal woman, Danika Ford, more than breath and will do anything to claim her--even defy the gods.

Danika is on the run. For months she's eluded the Lords of the Underworld, immortal warriors who won't rest until she and her family have been destroyed. But her dreams are haunted by Reyes, the warrior whose searing touch she can't forget. Yet a future together could mean death to all they both hold dear....

October 18, 2009: I absolutely LOVED this book! Gena Showalter's Lords of The Underworld series is my hands-down absolute favorite read! The characters are original and very multi-dimensional, and the story sucks you in so that you can't put it down until you're finished!

I recommend this series to any novel lover, not just the romanticists. I can't tell you how frustrating romance novels can be when they completely lack plot, character development, and rush into romance with no thought towards the story itself. The Lords of The Underworld are the total opposite! Go out and pick up your copies today!

I Also Recommend: The Darkest Kiss (Lords of the Underworld Series #2), The Darkest Kiss (Lords of the Underworld Series #2), The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld Series #1), The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld Series #1), The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld Series #1).

October 03, 2009: There are over sixty reviews for this book already, so my review will be brief. This installment follows Reyes, the keeper of pain. I enjoyed his story; it was a bit darker than the two previous books in the series and had plenty of action and suspense to keep me entertained. This dark paranormal romance fantasy successfully and continually kept my attention and interest. I have always loved Danika. She is a strong, brave survivor. If you are a LOTU fan, this installment is not to be missed. This story includes some vital information that will have lots of bearing on future books. As I wrote in my previous reviews for The Darkest Night and The Darkest Kiss, I'm on the fence about recommending this to fellow dark urban fantasy readers. This series requires at lot of patience to flip through all the emotional parts and self-dialogue sections. If you don't mind skipping through those sections, then this novel will keep your entertained. I look forward to reading the next book in the series The Darkest Whisper.
