      Synopsis

How to make beer-wine-liqueurs-moonshine whiskey. The author dusts off over 30 years of experience to tell you how it's done. He not only tells how to make darned near any kind of beers, wines, liqueurs and whiskies you can imagine, he also tells you how to make the equipment to do it with.

Ever wondered how moonshine stills are made? There are 8 types of stills illustrated in this book and though it's illegal to build or possess an un-permitted still the illustrations are so complete, you could easily do it! This book includes still plans and operating instructions from underground moonshiner manuals used in Mid East oil fields. Some are built with components found in most home kitchens. From moonshine stills, beer, wine and liqueur recipes, to make your own cappers, kegs, scales and even a malt factory from an old freezer, it's all here!

Easy to read and humorous, this book entertains you with Alaskan tales and bootlegger's lore while you learn to make everything from beer and blossom wines, to horse turd whiskey and bathtub gin. If you could buy only one "make your own" book for the rest of your life, this is it. It's like getting a whole shelf of books for the price of one!

July 18, 2008: I cannot believe what I'm reading! I thought I would probably get a dry, technical analysis of a prosess. But this is precious. Put's me in mind of our dear founding 'fathers'. Got my independence streak going. Hey, and it arrived Independence weekend! I've fallen out of my chair three times already. (I don't care if I ever get around to brewing a bottle of beer, but he's got the spirit!)

April 02, 2005: I believe this book is the best there is for anyone making their own home made wine and most especially for beginners as I was a few years ago. This is a common sense book, practical, easy to read and understand and will make the average Joe look like a Pro in wine making........ Since I bought this book for help in basics and recipes I have made the following kinds of wine since July of last year: Yellow plum, beet, grape, peach, sandhill plum, elderberry, carrot, red tomato, apple, persimmon, jalapeno, pear and cranberry. All of my produce comes from right here on the farm with the exception of the persimmon ( I get those from a neighbor's tree a mile away) and the cranberry that my wife purchased on closeout at Sam's for 48 cents per pound! I made a 5 gallon batch of the cranberry, turned out excellent. My wife is amazed I have not had a bad batch of wine and for a novice quite frankly I'm proud of that. I have right at 80 gallon produced this year. By the way I did buy an hydrometer........have yet to use it! :>) I tell everyone I talk to about this book, it is the best I have seen anywhere bar none. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. Needless to say I have made a lot of friends much happier! The author Mr. Kania writes with authority and practicality. He gives you a history of wine making and has a unique fun way of telling it. Thanks to this book! Roy Brown, Abilene, Kansas
