My review is based solely on the outcomes of teaching children that do not understand how nice people are around other students. Some students are able to continue with a positive atmosphere, while others are just not able to cope with the situation. No book can teach or help a child learn how to behave within the classroom.
Do you need a boost to get your class back in shape? This is the book!

This book is excellent for getting you back on track and getting you excited again about teaching and trying out new techniques! This is not only for teachers, but helpful for parents also!

A must-read for teachers--new and old!

The book presents practical solutions to common classroom problems. Perspectives in the book touch on social interactions between students and teachers, the psychology of power struggles, and standards of behavior. Many of the shared stories are common ground between the authors and the reader.
This book serves the teacher well. With educators as the target readers, Fay and Funk's book encourages teachers to try the 'Love and Logic' approach. For the seasoned teachers who find that the passion of teaching has been eroded away by the ever-changing dynamics of student populations this book is a must. For aspiring educators, this book would serve as a fundamental tool to hold dear through decades to come. Fay and Funk's ideas are fundamental to teaching--changes in time, structure, and students do not alter the messages in this book. The book is a tool that in its first reading presents a fresh outlook for teaching. Consecutive readings hone the teachers' skills to establish the environment needed for educators to educate and students to learn.

This book provides tips and advice for learning how to manage a classroom successfullly. I found many surprising suggestions that I had never considered before, such as why teachers shouldn't always give praise. I have tried using this book's techniques in the classroom, and have found that they really work. This book is an easy read and contains many case scenarios. I recommend this book if you want to make you days run easily and smoothly.
