June 20, 2005: I bought this book before studying abroad in Nepal. It helped lay the groundwork before I got to serious classes in Kathmandu. After returning to the U.S. in 2001, it's helped me keep up with my Nepali quite well. When I took a brush up course in London one semester, I found that this is the text book used in the first year course at the School for Oriental and African Studies, one of the most prestigious language schools in the world! I'd definitely recommend getting the book and CD or book and tape to anyone wanting to learn Nepali.
