November 14, 2009: This is the book that always tops the lists of "Which Orchid Book Should I Buy?" More people recommended this book to me for orchid growing care than any other. This is a great book. Photography is excellent, writing is really good, and this is the book that helped me understand about growing orchids - they're not difficult, as the author says, just different. So understanding what they want is necessary. Excellent, clear, detailed explanations make up the first half of the book, then the rest is an encyclopedia of 300 different kinds of species and hybrids, all beautifully pictured. I also just got the author's new book, Bloom-Again Orchids, which also lives up to the highest standards and that I've already ordered more of to give to friends.

      I Also Recommend: Bloom-Again Orchids.

August 22, 2009: I am just a beginner raising orchids and I find this to be a great reference. I have reread many sections over and over as I get more experienced. I'm very glad I bought it and am suse I will continue to refer to it for many years.
