As playful as some of his songs. Totally original Buffett! Gave it to my whole family to read and then we quoted most of it back to each other!

This is my third Buffett book and by far my favorite. I loved the perspectives each of the characters gives as they move from their relatively quiet and peaceful life on a farm to the storm of civilization that is New York City. Just like his music, Jimmy takes you away and makes you part of the story. Any escape from reality this soldier can get always helps. Thanks, Jimmy!!

This is the first book by Buffett I've read and I really enjoyed it. The part about 'Respect' definitely had me rolling with laughter. I'll never look at pigs the same again.

Rumpy, a Fine Swine, Rules!

I’ve always been told about pigs as pets and how smart they are, but I’d never considered it. I still never will, but I certainly have more respect for them now. This was totally charming, and although told in part from the view point of the pig, believable, believe it or not! Rumpy has a twin brother that she hadn’t seen in years, but when her family moved from Tennessee to New York, she has a chance to find Louie. The McBrides were originally from New York, but when Oliver went to Hollywood to find fame as a scriptwriter, his wife didn’t follow but kept the home fires burning in New York. It was tough. So when the former beauty queen from Clarksdale, Mississippi turned into a single mom with an absentee husband learned that her Aunt Margaret in Tennessee had died and willed her the farmhouse, the family moved there. Eventually they divorced, but when she had an opportunity as a dessert chef at a fine New York hotel and restaurant, Oliver helped the family, including Rumpy, move. Rumpy, Barley and Maple, the kids, had some fine adventures in New York until the cold weather hit, and Rumpy was restricted to the house due to a rule about exotic pets. How Rumpy meets the Pigilantes, saves the Mayor’s mother, and reunites with Louie makes a fine and hilarious tale!

Although this book doesn't even begin to relate to Buffett's salty ways, it is quite an unexpected hit with this business man. I have to say that it is the first book by Buffett that I have read and if most of the people who reviewed his other books were the same kind of person as the one who didn't like this book then I choose to ignore every bad review. This was by far one of my favorite books, a good escape from the norm.
