    July 18, 2009: I am already familiar with Suzanne's Somersizing program. Ten years ago my mother gave me her book and I lost over 100 lbs eating this way. Stupidly, after a few years, I let some life events upset me and I went back to eating like a fool. I gained weight, looked bad and, worse, felt terrible. In May I finally went to a doctor and discovered that I am diabetic and have been for some time. I was also suffering from hypertension. I was hospitalized for a week to get the edema, high blood pressure and high blood sugar under control. There was some worry on the part of the medical professionals that I would become depressed what with being diagnosed as diabetic. But that was far from the case. I knew what to do...and, for me, that was to go back to eating the way Suzanne recommeded.

    I picked up this book as a refresher (and because there is always new information that its good to keep up with). It explains things clearly, gives you easy to follow guidelines, and excellent recipes. My blood sugar is under control now, I've been able to cut the medication in half (with the doctor's approval) and I feel like I'm on my way back to health.

    October 05, 2005: I have been following Suzanne's program for 13 months now and have never felt better. Her way of combining foods helps you digest better and thus get the nutrients you are suppose to. I use to have stomach aches all the time because I was combining protein and carbs and when I don't do that I feel great.
