    Synopsis

    Georgina Kincaid's job sucks. Literally.

Love hurts, and no one knows it better than Georgina Kincaid. If she so much as kisses Seth Mortensen, the shy, sexy, incredibly gifted Seattle writer she's been dating, she'll drain his life force. Georgina is a succubus-a demon who draws her power from other men's pleasure. Admittedly, the shapeshifting and immortality perks are terrific, and yes, Georgina did choose to join the ranks of hell centuries ago. But it seems completely unfair that a she-demon whose purpose is seduction can't get hot and heavy with the one mortal who knows and accepts her for who she is.

It's not just her personal life that's in chaos. Doug, Georgina's co-worker at a local bookstore, has been exhibiting bizarre behavior, and Georgina suspects that something far more demonic than double espressos is at work. She could use help finding out, but Bastien, an irresistibly charming incubus and her best immortal friend, is preoccupied with corrupting an ultra-conservative talk radio star-and giving Georgina some highly distracting come-hither vibes. Georgina is going to have to work solo on this one-and fast because soon, Doug's life won't be the only one on the line.

Praise for Richelle Mead and Succubus Blues.

"An engaging read."—Jim Butcher, New York Times bestselling author

"Deliciously wicked! Dysfunctional, funny, and sexy."—Lilith Saintcrow, author of Dead Man Rising

"What an incredible debut novel! Succubus Blues is exciting, witty, sexy, intriguing and had me captivated from the first page."—Cheyenne McCray, author of Seduced by Magic

    Publishers Weekly

When a demon succubus falls for a mortal man, their relationship faces some sticky sweet obstacles in Mead's follow-up to her steamy 2006 paranormal debut, Succubus Blues. By day, shape-shifting beauty Letha, aka Georgina Kincaid, works at a Seattle bookstore; by night, in flagrante, she sucks the life energies of mortals. Her besotted bestselling writer boyfriend, Seth Mortenson, has agreed to a no-sex arrangement, and the "will they or won't they?" plot line grows tedious, as does Letha's character as the succubus with a heart of gold. Luckily, Mead provides cool side action when Letha's incubus pal, Bastien, enlists her help in taking down rabidly conservative radio host Dana Dailey. And bookstore co-worker Doug Sato finds his brushes with the demonic have some very pleasant side effects. It's hard to suspend disbelief, but this urban sextacular is a hoot. (Jan.)

September 08, 2009: So when i read the first book i was instantly hooked and went out and bought the other 3 books. I finished the 2nd book and thought it lacked something. The plot wasn't so thrilling and it took me 2 days to actually read it because i found myself bored. But it doesn't mean that i'm not excited to read the 3rd of 4th books, not every book in a series can be perfect. I still would recommend this series to my friends.

I Also Recommend: Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress Series #1), One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress Series #2), At Grave's End (Night Huntress Series #3), Destined for an Early Grave (Night Huntress Series #4), Sookie Stackhouse 8-volume Set.
