October 08, 2007: I am a ninth grade student at Lampeter Strasburg school district. I read the novel 'The Stranger' for a Language Art's assignment. I have never read a book written by Albert Camus before so I did not know what to expect. I really enjoyed this novel, because the book was very different than any other book I have read. This book was very entertaining and full of twist and turns. I did not expect the stranger to kill the Arab on the beach that day for the reason that he did. Especially after he stopped his friend Raymond from doing it. What threw me the most in this book was how the jury decided his sentence. They did not base if solely on the crime, but that he showed no sadness over his mothers death. I would rate this book with 3 1/2 stars.
