    Synopsis

Stink Moody's class is going on a field trip to the Gross-Me-Out exhibit at the science museum, and he can't wait to see the Vomit Machine, the Burp-O-Meter, and the Musical Farts. Best of all, when he gets to the Everybody Stinks exhibit, Stink discovers that his very own nose has amazing sniffing abilities -- and he learns that some people have real jobs sniffing stuff for NASA! Soon the junior olfactory wiz is engrossed in toilet water, corpse flowers, and all things smelly, and he and Sophie of the Elves are set to go toe-to-toe in a stinky sneaker contest. Will Stink's fetid footwear be foul enough to earn him a Golden Clothespin Award? Stink's loyal fans will be holding their breath for his latest outrageous solo adventure. Spotlight editions are printed on high-quality paper and with reinforced library bindings specifically printed for the library market. Grades K-4. In Stink's solo adventures, his special style comes through loud and strong! His tales are enhanced by a series of comic strips, drawn by Stink himself, which are sprinkled throughout the book. In honor of Judy Moody's younger "bother," the creators of the award-winning series have put themselves in a very Stink-y mood-proving, once and for all, that you're only as short as you feel.

    Children's Literature

Readers will welcome the return of Judy Moody's younger brother, Stink, in his own popular series. This book is a positive orgy of stinkdom, and a treat for smelly-obsessed second and third graders. When Mrs. D's second grade class plans a visit to the "Gross-Me-Out" exhibit at the science museum, it is Stink's fantasy field trip and he can't wait! With his buddies Webster and Sophie of the Elves in attendance, Stink emerges as class hero as a result of his amazing ability to detect odors. When one of the judges of the Stinky Sneaker contest gets sick, Stink is chosen to take his place and, luckily, picks friend Sophie's sneakers as the winners of the Golden Clothespin Award. Amusing cartoon illustrations, large type with plenty of white space, and much repetition of the words "stink" and "smelly" in all their possible configurations gear this book to newly emerging readers, especially to fans of Horrible Harry and Marvin Redpost. A wealth of sometimes bizarre information about smells is included. Who knew that there's a special person who smells things before they go on space ships to eliminate anything too stinky? Teddy bears are out. Parents beware: Stink may inspire an epidemic of spin-off smelly sneaker contests. This book will not stay on the store shelves long.

May 21, 2009: This Book is about Stink trying to join the Super-Stinky Sneakers contest, but one of the judges is sick. If you want to find out what happens with Stink and the contest read Stink and the World's Worst Super-Stinky Sneakers. I like this book because it is really funny and Stink comes up with interesting ideas. Plus, he can smell as good as a dog. A 3rd grader should read this book because it is funny and interesting.
