September 03, 2008: I've read other novels by this author. But this is the best story yet. Now this author is unusual in that she will retire her heroines so that they can have a rest from the turbulence of their fictional lives. This story is a swords & sorcery novel with a woman that calls to the inner doubts of all of us. I wasn't able to put this story down. In fact, when I get home tonight I'm going to re-read it. You'll love it, too. If you like Butcher, Harris, Kenyon, and Lackey, you'll love this novel.
